WebhookTrade Alternative for MT4 and MT5, From $0
TradingView Link is an alternative to WebhookTrade if you'd rather not give a cloud service your MetaTrader trading password, or if you want a free plan. Its EA runs in your own MT4 or MT5 terminal, from $0 to $19.99 a month. WebhookTrade suits you better if you don't want to run MetaTrader or a VPS at all, since it hosts the connection for you.
We make TradingView Link, so we aren't neutral. Every WebhookTrade fact on this page comes from its own website, checked in November 2026 and linked in the sources at the end. Prices change, so check them before you buy.
How does TradingView Link compare with WebhookTrade?
| Feature | TradingView Link | WebhookTrade |
|---|---|---|
| Price for one MT account | $0 (Free), $4.99 (Basic), $9.99 (Standard), $19.99 (Pro) a month | $14.99 a month, or $29.97 every 3 months ($9.99 a month) |
| Several accounts | Each webhook has its own plan | Plans for 2 to 10 connections, down to $7.49 per connection a month (10 connections, $899 a year) |
| Try before paying | Free plan with no time limit, and a 7-day free trial with no card | 3-day free trial with no card |
| Where it runs | An EA in your own MT4 or MT5 terminal | Its managed cloud, with no EA to install |
| Do you need a VPS or an always-on PC? | Yes. MetaTrader must stay open, so you pay for a VPS if you have no always-on PC | No. Cloud hosting is included |
| What you give the service | A webhook ID. We never need your broker password | Your account login, trading password, broker server and account type. It says passwords are encrypted before storage |
| Alert message | Plain text: webhook password, then instructions such as long EURUSD q=0.1 | JSON with your username and API key, built with its generator |
| Other brokers | MT4 and MT5 only | API brokers such as Capital.com, on separate plans from $4.80 a month billed yearly |
| Telegram | Place orders and get alerts in Telegram, from Basic | Notifications about executions and connection events |
| Published speed | About 20 s on Free, 3 s on Basic, 1 s on Standard, under 1 s on Pro | None on its homepage or in its documentation |
What is the main difference?
Where the connection to your broker lives. WebhookTrade logs in to your account from its own cloud, so nothing has to run on your side, and it needs your login and trading password to do that. TradingView Link's EA runs in a terminal you control and collects orders from our server, so your broker password stays with you, and the terminal has to stay open. Neither is right for everyone: it's a choice between less to run and less to hand over.
When is WebhookTrade the better choice?
- You don't want to run anything. There's no EA, no VPS and no PC to keep on.
- A VPS would cost you more than the price gap. Its price includes hosting, so compare it with our plan plus a VPS.
- You trade through Capital.com or another API broker it supports. TradingView Link covers MT4 and MT5 only.
- You run several accounts and want one bill. Its multi-connection plans cost less per account.
When is TradingView Link the better choice?
- You don't want to share your trading password. You only paste a webhook ID into the EA, in your own terminal.
- You already have a PC or VPS running MetaTrader. You'd be paying for hosting you don't need.
- You want to test for longer. The free plan has no time limit, and the paid trial lasts 7 days rather than 3.
- You send fewer alerts. Basic costs $4.99 a month for 500 alerts a day.
- You want to trade from Telegram or a web dashboard. Paid plans include both.
- You'd rather write plain text than JSON. An order is one short line.

How do you switch from WebhookTrade to TradingView Link?
- Sign up on the free plan and create a webhook for your MT4 or MT5 account.
- Install MT4 or MT5 on a PC or VPS that stays on, install the EA, add
https://tradingviewlink.comto the WebRequest list and attach the EA to one chart. - Click Add Secret in the dashboard to generate your webhook password.
- Edit each TradingView alert: replace the webhook URL and rewrite the JSON message as plain text.
- Disconnect the account in WebhookTrade so one alert can't place two orders, and test on demo first.
A long order with a stop loss and take profit looks like this:
YourWebhookPassword
long EURUSD q=0.1 sl=300 tp=600 The webhook guide has the full message format, and the MT5 and MT4 guides walk through the setup. If you trade a funded account, read the prop-firm EA rules first.
What do TradingView Link's plans include?

Frequently asked questions
Does TradingView Link need my MetaTrader password?
No. The EA runs inside your own terminal, where you're already logged in, so you never enter your broker password into TradingView Link. WebhookTrade asks for your account login and trading password because it connects to your account from its cloud.
Is TradingView Link cheaper than WebhookTrade?
On list price for one account, yes: $4.99 a month against $14.99 month to month, and there's a free plan. But WebhookTrade includes hosting. If you have to rent a VPS to run MetaTrader, add that to our price before you compare.
Do I need a VPS with TradingView Link?
Your MT4 or MT5 terminal has to stay open for the EA to trade. A home PC works if it stays on, and many traders use a Windows VPS. WebhookTrade doesn't need either.
Do WebhookTrade alert messages work with TradingView Link?
No. WebhookTrade uses JSON, and TradingView Link uses two lines of plain text. You rewrite each alert message once when you switch.
Does it work with prop-firm accounts?
TradingView Link's EA works on any MT4 or MT5 account where the firm allows Expert Advisors. Check the firm's rules first; our prop-firm guide covers three of the big ones.
Can I try TradingView Link before paying?
Yes. The free plan includes 5 alerts a month with no time limit, and every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial without a credit card.
