Short answer

Yes, you can connect TradingView to MT4 for free. TradingView Link's free plan has no time limit and needs no credit card: 5 alerts a month, each placed in about 20 seconds. For daily trading, the lowest monthly price we found for MT4 is our Basic plan at $4.99 a month. The other MT4 bridges we compared cost $119.88 to $169 for the first year, and PineConnector's current plans don't support MT4 at all.

We make TradingView Link, so we aren't neutral. Every competitor price below comes from that company's own website, checked in November 2026 and linked in the sources at the end. Prices change, so check them before you buy.

Which TradingView to MT4 bridges are free?

Do you need a paid TradingView plan?

With TradingView Link and other webhook-based bridges, yes. TradingView only sends webhook alerts from its paid plans (Essential and up), and it asks you to turn on 2-factor authentication first. Two bridges offer other routes: WebhookTrade says it can take alerts by email, which works with TradingView's free plan, and TradingConnector's Chrome extension reads alerts from a TradingView tab that you keep open on the same PC as MetaTrader.

Can you build a free MT4 bridge yourself?

If you can code, yes, but it's more work than on MT5. MT4 EAs can call a web server with the WebRequest() function, so you need your own server to receive TradingView's webhooks, and an EA that fetches the signals from it and places the orders. TradingView only sends webhooks to ports 80 and 443, so the server needs a public web address, and you're responsible for its security, uptime and every failed order. The MetaTrader5 package for Python only works with MT5, so it isn't an option on MT4.

How do you start on the free plan with MT4?

  1. Create an account with Start free below. No credit card is needed.
  2. In the dashboard, create an MT4 webhook and download the MT4 EA.
  3. In MT4, open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors, allow automated trading and DLL imports, and add https://tradingviewlink.com to the URLs allowed for WebRequest. Make sure the AutoTrading button is green.
  4. Attach the EA to one chart and enter your webhook ID. Then paste your webhook URL into a TradingView alert, with your webhook password on the first line of the message.
  5. Fire a test alert on a demo account and check that the order appears.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free TradingView to MT4 bridge?

Yes. TradingView Link has a free plan that sends TradingView alerts to MT4 with no time limit and no credit card: 5 alerts a month, each placed in about 20 seconds. The other MT4 bridges we compared offer trials of 3 or 7 days instead.

What is the cheapest TradingView to MT4 bridge?

Of the bridges we compared, TradingView Link Basic has the lowest monthly price for MT4: $4.99 a month, or $59.88 a year, for 500 alerts a day. Over three years or more, MetaConnector's one-off $169 lifetime licence can cost less.

Does PineConnector work with MT4?

Not on its current plans. PineConnector's plans, from $59 a month, are MT5 only (checked November 2026).

Do I need a paid TradingView plan for MT4 automation?

For TradingView Link, yes: it uses webhook alerts, which TradingView includes from its Essential plan up, with 2-factor authentication turned on. WebhookTrade says it can take alerts by email instead, and TradingConnector's Chrome extension reads alerts from an open TradingView tab.

Can I move from MT4 to MT5 later?

Yes. Every TradingView Link plan, including Free, works with both MT4 and MT5. Create an MT5 webhook in the dashboard and install the MT5 EA; the alert syntax is the same on both.

Is the free plan enough for live trading on MT4?

Usually not. 5 alerts a month at about 20 seconds each suit testing a setup on a demo account. A strategy that trades every day needs a paid plan; Basic costs $4.99 a month for 500 alerts a day at about 3 seconds.
