Does TradingView's Free Plan Have Webhooks?
No. TradingView's free Basic plan doesn't include webhook notifications, and it has no technical alerts at all, so it can't fire an alert from a strategy or indicator. Webhooks start at Essential, the cheapest paid plan, and TradingView also requires 2-factor authentication before it sends them.
Which TradingView plans have webhooks?
Essential and every plan above it. This table comes from TradingView's pricing page, read on 4 November 2026. Some other sites say you need Plus or Premium, but TradingView's own table shows webhooks on Essential.
| Plan | Webhooks | Price + technical alerts | Alert duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic (free) | No | 3 + 0 | 1 month |
| Essential | Yes | 20 + 20 | 2 months |
| Plus | Yes | 100 + 100 | 2 months |
| Premium | Yes | 400 + 400 | No expiry |
| Ultimate | Yes | 1,000 + 1,000 | No expiry |
Technical alerts are alerts on indicators, strategies and drawings, which is the kind automation needs.
| Plan | Billed yearly | Month to month |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | €12.95 | €14.95 |
| Plus | €29.95 | €34.95 |
| Premium | €59.95 | €69.95 |
| Ultimate | €199.95 | €239.95 |
These are the prices TradingView showed us from Europe, labelled as special prices. It shows your local currency and changes its offers, so check the page for yours.
What can alerts do on the free plan?
Basic gives you 3 price alerts, each lasting up to a month. They can notify you in the TradingView app or by email, and you place the trade yourself. They can't post to a webhook URL, and there are no alerts on strategies or indicators, so a Pine Script strategy can't send its orders anywhere.
Which paid plan do you need?
- Essential suits most people. 20 technical alerts cover several strategies, since one alert can carry all of a strategy's orders.
- Watch the 2-month limit. Alerts on Essential and Plus last at most 2 months. When one expires, your trades simply stop, so set a reminder to extend it.
- Premium and Ultimate alerts don't expire. Consider them if you can't risk a forgotten alert, or if you need more than 100 alerts.
- Every plan has a burst limit. TradingView stops an alert that fires more than 15 times in 3 minutes, so very fast strategies need a slower alert.
Can you automate TradingView without a paid plan?
Only partly. These are the routes we know of, and each has a catch.
- Alerts by email. WebhookTrade says it can take alerts by email, which works with the free plan. On Basic, that means 3 price alerts and no strategy alerts.
- A browser extension. TradingConnector's Chrome extension reads alerts from an open TradingView tab. The browser and tab have to stay open, and it's a paid service.
- Rewrite the strategy as an Expert Advisor (EA). Convert your Pine Script to MQL5, so it runs in MetaTrader with no TradingView at all. You have to rewrite and re-test it.
- Trade by hand. Let the alert notify you, then place the order yourself. It isn't automated, and you can miss entries.
What does the full setup cost?
We make TradingView Link, so this table uses our prices for the bridge. Other bridges are compared here.
| Part | Cheapest option | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| TradingView | Essential | From €12.95 a month, billed yearly |
| Bridge | TradingView Link free plan, then paid plans | $0 for 5 alerts a month, then $4.99 to $19.99 a month |
| MetaTrader | Your broker's MT4 or MT5 | Free from the broker |
| A machine that stays on | A home PC, or a Windows VPS | $0 on your own PC, about $17 to $40 a month for a VPS |
How do you turn on webhook alerts?
- Subscribe to Essential or higher.
- Turn on 2-factor authentication in your TradingView account's security settings.
- Create an alert on your strategy or indicator.
- In the alert's notifications, turn on Webhook URL and paste your bridge's URL.
- Let it fire on a demo account, then check the Webhook status column in the alert log.
The webhook guide covers what to write in the message, with alerts you can copy.
Frequently asked questions
Does TradingView's free plan have webhooks?
No. TradingView's free Basic plan doesn't include webhook notifications. They start at Essential, the cheapest paid plan.
Which is the cheapest TradingView plan with webhooks?
Essential. TradingView showed us €12.95 a month billed yearly, or €14.95 month to month, in November 2026. It shows your local currency and runs offers, so check its pricing page for your price.
Do webhooks cost extra on a paid plan?
No, they come with the plan. You pay separately for whatever receives them, such as a bridge that turns them into MT4 or MT5 orders.
Why can't I turn on the webhook option?
The two usual reasons are that the account is on the free plan, or that 2-factor authentication is off. TradingView only allows webhook alerts when 2-factor authentication is on.
Can I try a paid TradingView plan for free?
TradingView's pricing page shows a Try free button on its paid plans. Check the terms when you sign up, including when billing starts.
Does TradingView Link's free plan include TradingView webhooks?
No, they're separate. Our free plan covers the bridge. TradingView sends the webhook, so you still need Essential or higher on TradingView.
How many TradingView alerts do I need?
Usually one per strategy per symbol. With alert_message in Pine Script, one alert carries all of a strategy's orders. An indicator may need one alert per condition.
